Good morning Year 1 Class! Today, we have set up some tasks for you to complete.

English Grammar:

Using a pen and paper – please write the plural for the words below – check carefully if it should be ‘s’ or ‘es’

Eg:  

bag – bags                beach – beaches

fox                               dish

cross                           house

pitch                           friend

box                             school

English Spelling:

Write a list of words to go under each of these sounds

Anna’s group – Complete the set 2 and 3 speed sound lessons above, then write a book review of ‘Beegu’. There is a writing frame below to help you.

 

Maths:

Warm up:

How many different addition and subtraction sums can you think of that make 10?

Purple mash: 2’do number bonds to 10 and 20

 

Main Activity:

Fractions:

Find 10 objects and using the objects solve these fractions:

 

½ of 8, ½ of 10, ½ of 6, ½ of 4

Can you find ½ of 3? Why or why not?

 

Now try dividing them into 4 groups

¼ of 8, ¼ of 10, ¼ of 6 and ¼ of 4

 

Your answer is how many are in each group. Eg ¼ of 4 = 1

PE:

complete 20 star jumps

run on the spot for 30 seconds

jump and touch your knees 20 times

 rest and repeat 3 times.

 

Topic:

Draw a picture of what Neil Armstrong would have seen in space.

Create a fact file about Neil Armstrong

Good morning Year 1 Class! Today, we have set up some tasks for you to complete.

English Grammar: please write three sentences that need a question mark and one command that would need an exclamation mark. Check you have capital letters and finger spaces, use your sounds for spelling.

Please complete ‘Suffixes with the wolf’ on purple mash under your 2 do’s.

English Spelling:

If you are in Elaine’s RML group, on purple mash please complete the WK1 Autumn quiz.

All other children, please complete the WK1 Spring 2 quiz on purple mash.

Anna’s group – write a post card to yourself as if you were Beegu to her mother describing her experience on earth and how she is feeling. There is a word mat to help you below.

Maths:

Warm up:

Please practice writing you numbers 0-9 on paper.

On a piece of paper, show how many different ways you can make the number 8. Ex 10-2 or double 4.

Main Activity:

Fractions to begin to find ½’s and 1/4 of shapes.

Draw a circle, a square and a rectangle. Using your ruler, see how many different ways you can divide it into halves

Then, divide the shape in half again to get

¼. The complete the 2 do activity on purple

Mash ‘Fractions- halves and quarters’

 

PSHE: Make a leaflet for your class explaining the rules for road safety. See purple mash for the 2 do.
