PSHE

Our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) teaching brings together PSHE, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development.  We follow a scheme called Jigsaw- a mindful approach to PSHE.  SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development opportunities and the British Values (democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance) are mapped throughout the scheme.

There are six units of work for each year group for the year following a common theme.  The themes are:

Being me in my World – including understanding my place in the class, school and global community and rules.

Celebrating Difference – including antibullying, cyber bullying, homophobic bullying and diversity work.

Dreams and Goals –including goal setting, aspirations, working together to organise fund raising events

Healthy Me – including drugs and alcohol, self-esteem and confidence as well as healthy life style choices.

Relationships – including understanding friendships, family and other relationships, conflict resolution and communication skills.

Changing Me- including Sex and Relationships Education in the context of looking at change.
