As a school we work in very close partnership with our church – St Alban the Martyr, Holborn. The vicar, Father Christopher Smith, and curate, Father Guy, are very much an active part of the school community and are always available to listen and encourage both children and staff.
Each week a class Mass is held in the church. The children are very much involved in planning and preparing for the Mass. These times of worship are very special and provide all children with the opportunity to engage in worship at an age appropriate level. They also provide children with the opportunity to be still, quiet and reflective on the things that are important in life to them.
Every Thursday, a member of the clergy team leads the daily act of worship in school.
The major Christian festivals are always celebrated with a Mass either in the church or in school. Our Collective Worship team, made up of year 6 children, help to prepare for these services.
Children regularly visit the church as part of their RE learning. It is a wonderful resource which we are proud to have on our door step.
Children attend the Family Mass on Sundays and a children's activity club. Once a month, the school church choir sings at the Mass.
The annual fun day provides a real opportunity to bring the church, school and local community together. It is in the school where these communities are able to meet and together celebrate our humanity in all its diversity.
JAM (Jesus And Me) is our Sunday morning activity club. It is a great opportunity to get together and have fun whilst learning about the Christian Faith.
We meet every Sunday Morning 10.45-12.15 in The St Alban's Centre.
